Day Trip

This past Thursday my husband and I made a trip to Oklahoma City, OK. It’s only a three-hour jaunt for us. We had a chance to meet up with old friends and take in some of the points of interest…the main one being the Cowboy Hall of Fame/Western Heritage Museum.

A wonderful exhibit of the Taos Founders (artists) including,  Walter Ufer and Alan Houser were on display.

If you’ve never been, it’s a beautiful facility with outstanding art, and artifacts of the American West. There is a treasure of American Cowboy, and Cowgirl memorabilia. And,  the best dinning this side of anywhere!

No trip to OK, City would be complete without a visit to the historic Oklahoma City Stock Yards, Bricktown, Cattleman’s restaurant, and Saddlery/Western shops. The Stock Yards is one of the only working stock yards left in the U.S.

To finish off our day we took in a few Quarter horse races at Remington Park. Lets just say, we broke even!

Sometimes, the best trips are those close to home.
