This is Corn Rose, my mother. She is the main character in my book. As you know, it is fiction with much of Rose’s oral history throughout. I hope you’ll read her story.
She always said, “Youth is fleeting.” To me she will always be beautiful, and a part of my soul.
This picture was take a couple of years before her passing. She loved flowers, and especially admired my Christmas Cactus that year. I couldn’t resist taking this shot of her.
This the same plant getting ready to bloom again.
I can just hear her purr over it’s buds and exclaim how beautiful it will be… just in time for Thanksgiving.
